John Anderson is a geologist by training and a minerals explorer by profession.
After cutting his teeth in the excellent training grounds of Broken Hill base metals, Yilgarn nickel and eastern Australian tin, John returned to his native South Australia 21 years ago to lead the local Aberfoyle team. A purple patch of discovery in mineral sands and lead zinc led to two of the state’s current mines and several advanced prospects.
In 1995, John re-established an office in Adelaide for MIM, focussing on copper gold exploration before moving to Brisbane in 1998 to run that company’s Australian exploration.
Now, as Managing Director of Southern Uranium, John has brought another group into South Australia to explore for a new commodity. The opportunity is to use evolving target models and tactics to convert the state’s prior disadvantage of extensive cover into fresh large grassroots discoveries.
