Peter Reid is a geologist and founder of Petratherm. He began his professional career in 1992 as a regional geologist working on the Flinders Ranges with Primary Industries and Resources South Australia. He joined Minotaur Exploration in 1996 to search for gold and base metals. In 2000 this included being involved in the discovery and subsequent development of the Prominent Hill copper-gold deposit, and in 2002 the establishment of Mithril Resources a nickel explorer. With Minotaur's support Peter went on to researching Australia's geothermal energy potential, working closely with researchers from the University of Adelaide. The result of this work led to development of Petratherm's exploration models and exploration strategies.
