Tony Belperio has an Honours Degree in geology from the University of Adelaide, a PhD from James Cook University, and a diverse background in a wide variety of geological disciplines including marine geology, environmental geology and mineral exploration.

Tony was appointed Chief Geologist of the Minotaur Group in 1997, when it originated as Minotaur Gold, subsequently Minotaur Resources, and now Minotaur Exploration. He was appointed Executive Director of Exploration in 2007. Tony played a key role in the strategic area and target selection, and the exploration program that lead to the iron oxide copper-gold discovery at Prominent Hill. He has overseen an aggressive increase in exploration by Minotaur, including project generation and funding through a variety of innovative structures, alliances and joint ventures.
